So here I am, smackdab in the middle of finals, yet what am I doing? NOT STUDYING!
Okay…I have been studying all day, but I need a break. Breaks are healthy. I have four tests and three projects to do in the next week but my mind is 99% on summer mode, but I am confident that I will ace them all.
This summer is going to be a big one for me. I am studying abroad (VADO IN ITALIA!!) for two weeks and this is my last summer as a student. I am not sure what the “real world” will be looking like for me, but I know that this time next year I will be graduating and shoved right into it.
Last summer I worked as a nanny and I did not enjoy much free time at all. I have so many side projects going on (my journalist job, writing some books, building a freelance clientele) and I have decided to slow down so that I can put my best foot forward for all that I am doing this summer. I will still be babysitting some, but not nearly as many hours as I have been! I am a mom now (to five chicks, a cat, and a betta fish) so I have plenty of childcare of my own to keep my busy if I ever feel the urge to care for helpless beings.
Here are some things that I would like to accomplish this summer:
- Blog more regularly (at least twice a week)
- Finish at least one of the four (or five…or six?) books that I am writing
- Read all of the books I have queued up on my shelf
- Do freelance writing work for at least three clients
- Spend more time relaxing
- Make amazing memories in ITALY
What do you want to do this summer? Let me know in the comments! I love to hear what my readers are up to.
