Exploring Maui
I spent 17 of the past 21 years in school, so the end of this very long chapter called for some major celebration.
Since I graduated college, my sister graduated high school and my parents celebrated 20 years of marriage (all within two weeks) our family set off on one of our best vacations to date: San Diego + LA + Maui + Honolulu + San Francisco.
It was an absolute dream. We explored the island from one side to the other, and let me tell you. The views and experiences were simply magical.
I am honestly so excited to be writing this post because all of the amazing memories are coming alive again, one month later.
From swimming with resident sea turtles off the shore at our resort to crying down the Road to Hana, I could not have asked for a better trip.
Before we got to Hawaii, I was warned that the food is subpar. On our first night, we stopped at Maui Brewing Co. across the street from our hotel. I had pork and rice with a house cola & spiced rum. It was a great way to kick off our week of island life.
We were pretty jet lagged since it was a 3 hour time difference from California (where we spent half a week before Hawaii) and a 6 hour difference from home. We enjoyed the first sunset in our pajamas and had a little impromptu photoshoot.

Pulling over for beautiful views became the norm in Maui.
Drinking non-alcoholic beverages out of wine glasses was also a thing. Orange juice and smoothies are better enjoyed in fine glassware than in single-use red solo cups.
On one of our last nights on this island, my dad and I enjoyed the sunset while my mom and siblings shopped in Lahaina. My dad was all about the “dope pics” on this trip. He was proud that he took 240 for me at this spot and quite a few actually turned out well!
I am so glad that I got to spend the week paddleboarding, swimming and exploring in such a wonderful place. Maui was definitely my favorite stop in Hawaii and I would definitely go back in a heartbeat!
